Christian Education

Sunday Funday classes are offered during worship from September until June. The Adult Forum engages participants in thoughtful discussions along with videos on a variety of religious topics. Confirmation classes are offered for those students who are age-eligible for a rigorous preparation to be confirmands. Weekly Bible Study led by Pastor Josh is held on Wednesday mornings at 10:30. All are invited to participate in an examination of the scripture lessons that will be a part of the coming Sunday worship service.
Special Presentations

Our congregation enjoys many opportunities for a fellowship meal followed by engaging presentations on wide-ranging topics. Programs may cover current social issues and humanitarian concerns, as well as travel, history, or the arts. The St. Luke Men’s Group meets monthly in our fellowship hall for dinner and a guest speaker. Programs have included actors portraying noted historical figures, a biographer of well-known authors, and a bee-keeper!
The St. Luke Women’s Group offers morning events with a meal in the fellowship hall. Programs have included strategies for de-cluttering, writing one’s own personal story, and wreath-making! Here, they are assembling Easter eggs for residents of a care facility.
Our yearly Sunday Night Lenten Fellowship Event is open to the entire congregation and their guests. A delicious chef-prepared meal is followed by an educational program tied to our yearly Lenten challenge. In addition, the Stephen Ministry Forum: Lunch and Learn, held yearly in the spring, brings in guest speakers on relevant social issues.
Group Excursions and Member-hosted Fellowship
Small group excursions to musical concerts, plays, museums, and tours are a part of the fun offered to interested members and their guests. The St. Luke Book Group has been meeting for many years in individual member homes in order to discuss a chosen book or watch a film together. New book club members are always welcome!
The Shepherd’s Center
St. Luke Lutheran Church is a church partner with the Lifelong Learning Program of the Shepherd’s Center. Our church offers classroom space to their Open University senior adult students for 8-week sessions during the fall, winter, and spring each year.
