One of our members, John O., went to Micronesia with the Peace Corps, forty years ago. He has kept alive a dream to revisit the people there, and he set out on this great adventure, on Tuesday, March 22, 2016.
Micronesia is the name of a region in the Pacific Ocean. This region of Oceana consists of many hundreds of small islands spread over a large region of the western Pacific. Politically, Micronesia is divided between eight territories: the Federated States of Micronesia; the Republic of the Marshall Islands; the Republic of Palau; the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands; the Republic of Nauru; the Republic of Kiribati; the Territory of Guam and the Territory of Wake Island.
John will be serving in the education system there. Our prayers and good wishes go with him, as he leaves his wife and family, to go out in faith, in response to this call to service, for one whole year. This is his blog during that experience.
